Apple unveiled their new Iphone SE and Ipad Pro 9.7 inch in an event held by apple on 21st March 2016. The Iphone SE comes with a 4 inch IPS display powered by the apple A9 chip set and an M9 motion co processor. The phone also comes equipped with a 12 mp rear and 5 mp front isight camera similar to the one we saw in the IPhone 6s. The phone also has the force touch technology and has gotten a 2x boost in performance compared to the IPhone 5s which the new phone is modeled after. The IPhone SE looks like the IPhone 5s except for some shuttle changes and a performance boost.
This phone is targeted towards customers who want the latest and greatest technology in a comfortable sized phone. The users who don't like to use a giant phone/phablet or prefer one hand usability will find this phone appealing. The phone is priced at $399 for the 16 GB model and $499 for the 64gb model. The 16gb model is really a bummer and a marketing plot on apples behalf. In this day and age 16 gb is just not enough memory in a high end phone.
Apple also released an IPad Pro 9.7 inch which will be replacing the IPad Pro 12.9 inch. The IPad also comes packed with the similar processor as the IPad pro 12.9 inch model. The IPad now has a improved 12 mp rear camera with true tone flash same as the one on the IPhone 6s. This creates a huge camera hump on the new Ipad which in my opinion looks ridiculously ugly. Others changes include more LTE bands, better battery life, Hey siri stand by functionality and a new 256 GB storage variant. The new ipad will also be running IOS 9.3 which is now available for anyone to downlaod.
The Ipad Air 9.7 inch will retail around $599 for the base model. Both the device will be available for pre order starting 24 March and will go on sale on the 31 March. The availability here in Nepal is still unknown but hopefully it will launch in Nepal within this month.
