Google has just released its Android N developer preview and it comes packed with some very exciting and awesome features. Anyone owning a Nexus device should be able to download the preview and use it. Note that it is just a developer preview and may contain a ton of bugs so i would highly suggest you to flash it only on a secondary device and back up all the important data before doing so. Nonetheless, here are my top 5 Android N features:
1. Multi-tasking:
So finally Google decided to included multi- tasking at the core of Android. Many android OEM's like Samsung, LG, Sony have been including this in their smartphone. It is only natural to include this features as phone are getting bigger and bigger by the iteration. So this is a welcome change, to make use of all that screen real-estate and get multiple things done at a time. It will not only make the experience smoother but the implementation will be a lot better and ergonomic (cough Sony cough).
2. Apps Switching:
It is really a small feature but it makes a lot of difference on the over all usability of the phone. Now you can switch between apps easily by double pressing the app switcher,
and holding the app switcher will bring up the multi tasking window. This is really a convenient way of switching between apps and multitasking .
3. Better Doze:
Doze is a battery saving technique of Google which was introduced in Android Marshmallow. What it did was save the battery of the device when the device was locked or was on stand by.Well, now it is much better and saves more battery life. It does this by saving battery when the device is idle. There will also be better background app management and ram management.
4. Notification Quick Reply:
With the New Android N you can quickly reply to messages straight from the notification bar. People will find it more convenient and easy to reply straight from the notification bar. It looks more or less like the Quick reply feature of the IOS device and i am glad they brought it here on Android. It will be easier to reply to messages quickly without having to exit the current app.
5. Redesigned Quick Settings:
The quick setting bar has been redesigned to give you a more quicker access to your necessary settings. The quick settings looks minimalist and shows you only the things that matter. You can get to necessarily setting quickly and make changes without having to expand the quick settings panel. You can always do that if would like so..
So that was my top 5 Android N features. So what do you-think about all these changes upcoming to Android. Folks, remember that this is only a developer preview and a lot of can change in the final build.
Note: I think N will stand for Nutella ..Why?? Because everyone loves Nutella. So what do you think it will stand for?? Do let me know in the comments down below.
